Smart is for built in Bluetooth for monitoring and control with VictronConnect. Options include remote monitoring over the internet via the VRM Portal, also a pluggable LCD display for the larger models.

Tidy little unit.

Wireless communications with other Victron charges. Standard size MPPT Control, bit on the small side.
Only complaint is the 6 connection blocks are small and not too well separated. Potential for short between feeders.
